Chaekith Chandranna 🏆

What do you love most about the job?

What I love most about my job is the sense of freedom and independence it offers.

Each day is different, with new routes, landscapes, and people to encounter.

The open road provides a peaceful solitude that allows me to clear my mind, yet I still feel connected to the world around me.

How do you ensure you deliver vehicles on time?

To ensure I deliver vehicles on time, I focus on careful planning, time management, and proactive communication.

I map out the most efficient route, accounting for factors like traffic, weather, and potential road closures. I maintain a strict schedule and allow for buffer time to handle unexpected delays. I also stay in constant communication with the Engineius team and customers to keep them updated.

What has been your best experience with Engineius so far?

My best experience with Engineius has been the seamless coordination and support they provide during each delivery. The platform makes it incredibly easy to track and manage jobs, and the Customer Service team is always quick to assist if any issues arise.

There’s a real sense of teamwork, and I appreciate how well-organised everything is, from the initial assignment to the final handover.

The flexibility and transparency in the process allow me to focus on driving without worrying about the logistics. It makes the job more enjoyable, knowing I have such reliable backing every step of the way.

How many miles do you drive on average a week?

Approximately around 700 miles.

What do you think are the secrets behind getting to where you’ve got to?

The secrets behind getting to where I am today lie in a combination of hard work, consistency, and adaptability. I've always stayed committed to delivering quality and reliability in every job. It’s about building trust, whether with customers or within a team.

I also make an effort to continuously learn and adapt, whether it’s mastering new routes, upgrading skills, or using technology to streamline my work.

Patience and problem-solving are key; not every day is easy, but persistence and maintaining a positive attitude help me push through challenges. Lastly, valuing safety and responsibility has always been at the core of my success.

What drives you to succeed in this job?

For me to succeed in this job is I need a strong sense of responsibility and the satisfaction of doing things right. I take pride in knowing that my work directly impacts the smooth operation of the business, whether it's ensuring a timely delivery or keeping clients satisfied.

The challenges, from navigating traffic to maintaining vehicles, push me to continually improve my skills. I also thrive on the freedom and independence this job offers, which fuels my motivation to stay disciplined and efficient.

Do you reconcile your jobs and expenses on a regular basis?

Yes, I reconcile my jobs and expenses on a regular basis. It’s essential for staying organised and ensuring that everything is accounted for, both for personal budgeting and tax purposes.

I keep track of all expenses, such as fuel, maintenance, and tolls, and match them with the earnings from each job. This helps me evaluate whether my routes are profitable, identify any areas where I can cut costs, and plan more effectively for the future. Regular reconciliation also keeps me on top of financial goals and ensures I’m running my driving business effectively.

What are you most excited for this year?

This year, I’m most excited about the opportunity to take on new challenges and expand my experience. Whether it’s exploring new routes, working with different clients, or improving my efficiency, I’m looking forward to growth and learning.

I’m also excited about the potential to adopt new technology or systems that could streamline my work, making it even more effective and rewarding.

What makes Engineius a special place to work?

Engineius is a special place to work because of its strong focus on collaboration, transparency, and support. The platform makes it easy to manage jobs, track deliveries, and communicate, which helps create a sense of efficiency and reliability.

The team at Engineius genuinely values the work drivers do, and there’s a sense of respect and trust between everyone involved. Whether it's the prompt customer support, clear expectations, or the flexibility in work schedules, Engineius fosters an environment where I can focus on doing my job well while feeling backed and appreciated. It’s a team effort that makes the job enjoyable.

What is the best advice you can give other drivers?

The best advice I can give other drivers is to always prioritise safety, stay organised, and be adaptable. Safety should always come first—whether it’s maintaining your vehicle, following traffic laws, or planning for weather conditions. Staying organised helps manage your schedule, track expenses, and ensure smooth operations.

Lastly, adaptability is key; no day is the same, and being able to adjust to changes, like rerouting or dealing with unexpected delays, will keep you ahead of challenges. And remember, communication is crucial—keeping clients and teams updated builds trust and minimises stress.

Consistency, responsibility, and a positive attitude go a long way.
