Employee of the Month: Nelson Ayres

Congratulations to Nelson Ayres, our Driver Services Account Manager, for being awarded Employee of the Month.

This month, our employees voted for their colleague who displays our listen and act value.

Nelson has stood out for his dedication to both the business and the drivers he supports. His strong reputation among drivers comes from his genuine effort to actively listen to their needs and always follow up with solutions. His commitment to understanding and communicating company procedures ensures everyone stays informed and aligned.

What do you do for Engineius?

I am a Driver Services Account Manager for the Southern Region, I provide advice, guidance, and support to drivers within my area. My focus is ensuring the safety, efficiency, and high standard of service from drivers within my region.

What motivates you to do well in your role?

I love getting to know the drivers and watching them progress, but also to provide them with support on any issues they may face and giving them the best Engineius experience.

What playlist do you listen to in the car the most?

I’m a pretty open book when it comes to music. I listen to a lot of 80s music and also early 2000s dance music, but currently listening to a lot of Beyonce as I'm seeing her in concert in 2 weeks at Tottenham Hotspur.

What do you like most about working for Engineius?

The thing I like most is that I have the chance to get to know the drivers on a personal level and truly engage with each of them.

Especially with the recent driver event we hosted, it made all the phone calls feel worthwhile and gave the role a real sense of purpose. Seeing the impact I’m making and how I’m helping the drivers day-to-day is genuinely rewarding.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

Once I'm home, I usually chill out in front of the TV or maybe go to the cinema (as it’s walking distance from where I live).

I also visit my nan in Devon once a month, so walking along the South Coast in the summer is a great way to unwind after a busy week.

Describe one thing you've learnt in your role?

Since taking on my current role, I’ve gained valuable experience in structuring and managing workloads effectively. This has also allowed me to contribute to developing a driver service process within the Driver Service Team, enhancing support for drivers across the region.

What’s a hobby or interest you have that might surprise your colleagues?

I've actually started to collect vinyl records since they have become very popular in recent months!
