On the Road: Jed Light

Meet Jed Light, our Network Planner who recently joined in August!

Jed works with new drivers who join Engineius for their first month, with planning support and coaching. It was time for him to go and experience exactly what it’s like to be an Engineius driver to enhance his knowledge.

Without further ado, scroll down to find out how his experience went and other treks he has completed ⛰️

Tell us more about what you do at Engineius?

I am a Network Planner. I guide new drivers through the first four weeks of their journey with Engineius.

I provide our drivers with the skills they need to find, grab and plan their own work - setting them up to be successful Engineius drivers.

How did you find the trip overall?

Overall, the trip was very enjoyable because it was nice to get out of the office and experience a move.

I found myself driving a Kia Sportage, marking my first time driving an SUV! Interestingly, despite being a 2017 model, it happened to be the newest car I've ever driven, too!

What did you enjoy most/what was the best part about your trip?

The most enjoyable part of the trip, believe it or not, was adding fuel expenses, as I got 9.7 L, which turned out to be £15 on the dot.

Is there a location in the UK that you would like to travel through on your next job?

For my next job, I would like to travel to the far reaches of Scotland to soak up all the beautiful views, and get a chance to do some fell running in the mountains ⛰️

What is your dream car?

The dream car would be Audi RS6, fast, but still practical.

An interesting fact about yourself?

I am very much into long-distance trekking, my latest big treks included the Pyrenees from the Atlantic down to the Mediterranean via every high pass on the route.

The other is the Swedish mountain chain from North to South, capturing many views from the Arctic Circle - the Northern Lights in plenty of mountains and lakes.

What did you do before Engineius?

Before Engineius, I was a student with a BSC in Geology, and my background for working in logistics has been in food distribution, with J&R foods and Forthglade.
